I’m halfway through the week already, which is utterly alarming and somewhat pleasing to me. For one, I’ve gotten three exams over with but it also means that my last exam of the week is a lot closer. Also, Thanksgiving break is coming up next week! Who’s excited?*
I haven’t made any progress on my leisure reading reading this week for obvious reasons but I am reading making some progress on reading in general. Here’s what I’m reading:
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert: I loved her latest novel, The Signature of All Things and I decided to read the book that she’s best known for. It’s a little eh for me since I’m not a fan of the premise (Run off to exotic locations because her life isn’t going too well (divorce)? It’s hard to relate when there’s so much more tragedy in life than just divorce.).
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes: I started this a while back because of all the good reviews that I’ve read about it. I’m a little sad to say that I’ve barely made headway. I’ve been busy. It’s the story of a young British woman from a small town “who’s hired to become the caretaker for an affluent Londoner (Deadline)”, which reminds me of The Intouchables, but a romantic English take on it.
Roomies by Sara Zarr and Tara Altebrando: While I didn’t like Zarr’s previous work, The Lucy Variations, I thought the premise of this sounded fun and I did like Zarr’s writing style. Here’s to second chances and a YA contemp about meeting your freshman year of college roommate.
*I’m excited but finals week is coming up after Thanksgiving. Time to hunker down at the library, which is starting to look rather depressing…
What are you reading? How has your week been so far?
