The Underground New York Public Library blog is one of my my favorite blogs to follow on Tumblr, not only because it’s strangely fascinating to see what people read on the subway (no, I’m not being sarcastic at all, really) but also the photography is just gorgeous.
Ourit Ben-Haim, the photographer and creator of UNYPL takes pictures of people that she sees on the subway reading and she always posts what books the people she’s captured are reading (as well as links to either borrow or buy the book). When I first discovered the blog, I didn’t think that much about people in the photos, but after going to NYC recently, I have newfound respect for the people who manage to read on subways. The wait is only a short one usually but they still open their books and read.
