I’m a Jane Austen fan so naturally when I found a Jane Austen themed journal on sale on the Barnes and Noble website, I knew that I had to buy it. You can buy it here.
Last week, my order had arrived and like a five year old child, I quickly grabbed a pair of scissors to open the package. I flipped through the other things in the box to find my journal and left the box in the middle of the hallway.
The cover features a quote by Jane Austen and throughout the journal, there are Regency era illustrations, fitting Jane Austen’s time period.
The inside of the journal is a soft illustration of a manor and this one reminds me of Mansfield Park because my Barnes and Noble edition of it has a cover with a similar style house.
Some of the pages include quotes from Jane Austen’s novels and personal letters. I liked how they were paired with matching illustrations.
The back of the journal gave me a laugh since the selling point of the journal is a spoof of the famous first line in Pride and Prejudice, “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.”
